February 27th , is a day of pride for Marathi speakers. It is celebrated as “Marathi Day” or “Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din” to honour the life and works of one of the most eminent Marathi poets , Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar , who was also popularly known as Kusumagraj. His birth date february 27th was selected as a date for celebrating the richness and heritage of the Marathi language in Maharashtra. A prayer service was held in school and the students participated in activities like making posters ,essay writing and Marathi hand writing.
