Humble beginning at Amboli

St.Louis Convent High School was started in the year 1966 by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Carmelite Religious. At first it was housed in a small house at Amboli. A few years later by 1971 the number of children had grown to a gigantic proportion and in the intervening time a new site was located- a plot was purchased at Four Bungalows in 1973.The foundation stone for the new school building was laid on the 10th January 1974.The Sisters with sheer grit and determination trudge a long cherished reality come true. The Carmelite Sisters are a persevering lot. Their history in the field of education is an enterprise. The dogged determination and persistent efforts of the Sisters subjugated all hardships and obstacles in its infancy. The school has grown steadily under the competent leaderships of the Carmelite Sisters. Today St. Louis Convent High School has undoubtedly made great strides towards becoming a highly respected and esteemed school. The school encourages and fosters moral and spiritual upbringing with high standards of character formation, imparting sound education and all round development of its pupil. The school is affiliated to the Catholic Archdiocesan Board of Education.

At this time of introspection we lift our hearts with grateful praise to the glorious light that has led us through 50 years of accomplishment. The work of our hands have gained momentum to meet the needs of our growing student population, their talents enhanced and virtues fostered gently and the buds naturally coaxed into blossoms.
